Most hearing aids need a repair at some point and that’s completely normal. The cost effective route to owning a pair is to fix them when possible.  Ear Wax and other small debris can get into the microphone and clog it. Most hearing aids come with specialized tools to clean out the wax that is blocking the tube. Typically this is an easy fix but we encourage our clients to reach out if they have issues. Even more common issues revolve around normal wear and tear of being outdoors. If your hearing aids have been exposed to water, moisture, or high temperatures – it’s best to check to see fi they need repair. Depending on the extent of the damage, it may be best to reach out to our audiologist for help. The receiver may need to be changed. This is the #1 type of hearing aid needed repair. This type of repair is typically performed in our office clinic right outside of Raleigh.
